Μαύρο μεταλλικό κιβώτιο. Στην πρόσοψη έχει τα χαρακτηριστικά γράμματα AB τα οποία του έδωσαν και το όνομά του. Πρόκειται για τον κλασσικό κερματοδέκτη που είχαν οι τηλεφωνικοί θάλαμοι στην Αγγλία από τη δεκαετία του 1930 μέχρι και την δεκαετία του 1970. Στο επάνω τμήμα υπάρχουν υποδοχές για τη ρήψη κερμάτων και στο μπροστινό τμήμα θυρίδα επιστροφής κερμάτων. Επίσης διακρίνεται κουμπί ενεργοποίησης και κλειδαριά ασφαλείας. Η συσκευή συνοδευόταν και συνδεόταν με ξεχωριστή τηλεφωνική συσκευή. Η ιδιαιτερότητα του συγκεκριμένου αντικειμένου έγκειται στο ότι αναγράφεται στη σχισμή ρήψης κερμάτων "50 mils 5 mils" δηλαδή την υποδιαίρεση της κυπριακής λίρας που χρησιμοποιήθηκε ως νόμισμα κατά την περίοδο 1955-1983. Black metal box. At the front, it bears the feature letters AB to which its name is attributed. It is the most common type of payphone that was installed in UK telephone booths from the 1930s until the 1970s. At the top, there are coin collection slots and on the front, a coin return slot. Moreover, the activation key and the safety lock are also visible. The device was accompanied and connected to a separate telephone set. The particularity of this exhibit lies on the fact that the coin collecting slot bears the inscription “50 mils 5 mils”, namely, it refers to a subdivision of the Cyprus pound which was used as currency during the period 1955-7938.
