Η οικία και το άγαλμα του Μωχάμετ Άλη. Η Οικία του Μωχάμετ Άλη βρίσκεται στη χερσόνησο της Παναγίας, στην παλιά πόλη της Καβάλας. Ο μελλοντικός ηγεμόνας της Αιγύπτου γεννήθηκε και έζησε στην Καβάλα μέχρι την ηλικία των τριάντα χρονών. Το κτίριο κατασκευάστηκε περίπου το 1780 με 1790.Σήμερα, η Οικία του Μωχάμετ Άλη λειτουργεί ως μουσείο. Το άγαλμα του Μωχάμετ Άλη, που δεσπόζει στην πλατεία, φιλοτεχνήθηκε από τον Έλληνα γλύπτη Κ. Δημητριάδη, ως παραγγελία και προσφορά των ελληνικών κοινοτήτων της Αιγύπτου στην γενέτειρα του Μωχάμετ Άλη. (EL)
The house and the statue of Mehmet Ali. The House of Mohamed Ali is located on the peninsula of Panagia, in the old town of Kavala. The future ruler of Egypt was born and lived in Kavala until the age of thirty years old. The building was constructed around 1780 by 1790.Simera the House of Mohamed Ali a museum. The statue of Mohamed Ali, which dominates the square, was created by the Greek sculptor K. Dimitriadis, as demand and offer of Greek communities in Egypt at the birthplace of Mohamed Ali. (EN)
