Ξύλινη τηλεφωνική συσκευή τοίχου. Στο κέντρο ο δέκτης, μπρούτζινος με μαύρη απόληξη. Αριστερά το άγκιστρο, επίσης μπρούτζινο, όπου στηρίζεται το μαύρο επιστόμιο, που συνδέεται με τη συσκευή με καλώδιο μαύρου χρώματος. Πάνω, δύο μπρούτζινα κουδούνια. Για εσωτερική χρήση, καθώς δεν έχει μανιβέλα για κλήση (τύπος non-dial). Αποτελεί τον πρώτο τύπο - επιτοίχιου τηλεφώνου - της Western Electric με σαφή στόχο τον περιορισμό του όγκου (βλ. και βιβλιογραφία). Από τις πρώτες επίσης συσκευές που ικανοποιεί την ανάγκη για γενίκευση της χρήσης για τηλεφωνική επικοινωνία. Αφορά στην οικιακή χρήση και παράλληλα εισάγει την ενδοεπικοινωνία εντός του νοικοκυριού με την έννοια που την γνωρίζουμε ακόμη και σήμερα. Από την Western Electric προωθείται ως την συσκευή που εξοικονομεί κινήσεις και ενέργεια στο σπίτι μέσα από το σλόγκαν " the greatest little step-savers that ever helped a housewife ". (EL)
Wooden wall-mounted phone. Its receiver, bronze with a black tip, is located in the centre of the device. On the left, the black mouthpiece, which is connected to the device with a black cord, is mounted on a bronze hook. On the top is a dual bronze bell-ringer. The telephone was intended for domestic use due to the absence of a hand crank (non-dial type). It is the first kind of Western Electric wall telephone sets manufactured with a view to reducing the size (see References). It is also one of the first devices that addressed the need for generalised telephone communication. It was intended for domestic use and , at the same time, provided a home intercom system, just as we know it today. Western Electric advertised this device through the slogan " the greatest little step-savers that ever helped a housewife ". (EN)
