Τηλεφωνική συσκευή από πλαστικό, χρώματος πράσινου ανοιχτού με δίσκο κλήσης στο κάτω μέρος μαζί με κόκκινο πλήκτρο-διακόπτη λειτουργίας στη μέση του δίσκου. Το ακουστικό και το μικρόφωνο είναι ενσωματωμένα στη συσκευή. Το καλώδιο είναι κομμένο και το εξάρτημα του ακουστικού έχει αφαιρεθεί μαζί με το κάλυμμά του. Για την Ericsson, η τηλεφωνική συσκευή υπήρξε ο πρώτος τύπος συσκευής που λαμβάνει επίσημο όνομα αντί για κάποιο αριθμό. Η επίσημη ονομασία από την Ericsson υπήρξε Ericofon. Το σχέδιο υλοποίησης για την Ericsson ξεκινά από τα τέλη της δεκαετίας του 1940, με τον επικεφαλής Gosta Thames να επισημαίνει ότι η ομάδα εργασίας ουδέποτε χρησιμοποίησε τον όρο Cobra. Η συσκευή αποτέλεσε το πρώτο "όλα σε ένα (all in one) " τηλέφωνο και σημειώνει τεράστια εμπορική επιτυχία χάρη στον επαναστατικό σχεδιασμό, την ευκολία χρήσης και την δυνατότητα απόκτησης της σε ποικιλία χρωμάτων. Η ευρεία ανταπόκριση της συσκευής από το κοινό υπό τον τίτλο "Cobra" - εξαιτίας της δυνατότητας περιστροφής του καμπύλου λαιμού και του ακουστικού, το οποίο προσιδιάζει με βλέμμα φιδιού - αναγκάζει την Εθνική Εγκυκλοπαίδεια της Σουηδίας να παραθέσει τoν όρο "Ericofon" υπό τον τίτλο "Cobra". Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι όρος Ericofon καταρτίζεται από την ένωση των τριών πρώτων γραμμάτων της εταιρείας και την ελληνική λέξη "φωνή". (EL)
Plastic telephone in light green. On the bottom is a rotary dial and in the middle a red function key-switch. The handset and the microphone are incorporated in the device. The cord has been cut and the ear piece part has been removed along with the cover. This is the first Ericsson telephone to receive a name rather than a number. The official Ericsson name was Ericofon. The phone was designed in 1940 with team leader Gosta Thames stating that the working group never used the term "cobra". It was the first all-in-one telephone, marketed with great success due to its revolutionary design, user-friendliness and variety of colours. Τhe phone is widely known as the cobra telephone for its resemblance to a coiled snake; for this reason the National Encyclopedia of Sweden was forced to cite the term "Ericofon" under the title "Cobra". It is worth mentioning that the term Ericofon is the combination of the three first letters of "Ericsson" and the Greek word "phoni" ("voice"). (EN)
