Antirrio lighthouse
Φάρος Φρουρίου Αντιρρίου

Beam 12 miles and focal height 15 meters. Cylindrical stone tower on the SE rampart of the Fortress or Castle of Roumeli (arch. Molykrion Rion), on the northern horn of the strait on the coast of Central Greece. In 1897 on the opposite coast, at the Fortress of Rio or Castle of Morea and on the southern horn of the strait on the coast of Peloponnese, a beacon operated with a steady green light towards the Gulf of Patras and a steady red light towards the Gulf of Corinth. The beacon at the Fortress of Antirrio was destroyed by the Germans in 1941 and was reactivated in 1950.

Φωτοβολία 12 μίλια και εστιακό ύψος 15 μέτρα. Πύργος κυλινδρικός λιθόκτιστος επί της ΝΑ έπαλξης του Φρουρίου ή Κάστρου της Ρούμελης (αρχ. Μολύκριον Ρίον), στο βόρειο κέρας του πορθμού επί της ακτής της Στερεάς Ελλάδας. Το 1897 στην απέναντι ακτή, στο Φρούριο Ρίου ή Κάστρου του Μωρηά και στο νότιο κέρας του πορθμού επί της ακτής Πελοποννήσου, λειτούργησε φανός με πράσινο σταθερό φως προς τον Πατραϊκό κόλπο και ερυθρό σταθερό φως προς τον Κορινθιακό. Το φωτιστικό του φάρου στο Φρούριο Αντιρρίου καταστράφηκε από τους Γερμανούς το 1941 και επαναλειτούργησε το 1950.
