Dokos lighthouse

Beam 14 miles and focal height 23 meters. Cylindrical stone tower 9 meters high, connected to the lighthouse keeper's residence. It is located 25 meters from the SE tip of the island of the same name, in the sea of Ermioni. In 1941 it was destroyed by the Germans and reopened in 1945. The lighthouse is currently abandoned and the building is almost destroyed. An automatic lantern has been installed for the lighting needs of the area. Dokos (archaic Aperopia) is a small island in the strait of Hydra, Ermioni and Spetses. It was first inhabited at the end of the 5th millennium BC and held an important position in controlling the sea trade routes to Argolis.
Φωτοβολία 14 μίλια και εστιακό ύψος 23 μέτρα. Πύργος κυλινδρικός πετρόκτιστος ύψους 9 μέτρων, συνεχόμενος με την κατοικία των φαροφυλάκων. Βρίσκεται 25 μέτρα μέσα από τη ΝΑ άκρη του ομώνυμου νησιού, στη θάλασσα της Ερμιόνης. Το 1941 καταστράφηκε από τους Γερμανούς και επαναλειτούργησε το 1945. Ο φάρος είναι σήμερα εγκαταλελειμμένος και το κτίριο σχεδόν κατεστραμμένο. Για τις ανάγκες φωτισμού της περιοχής έχει τοποθετηθεί αυτόματο φανάρι. Ο Δοκός (αρχ. Απεροπία) είναι ένα μικρό νησάκι στο στενό Ύδρας, Ερμιονίδας και Σπετσών. Πρωτοκατοικήθηκε στα τέλη της 5ης χιλιετίας π.Χ. και κατείχε σημαντική θέση στον έλεγχο των θαλάσσιων δρόμων εμπορίου προς την Αργολίδα.
