Drepano lighthouse, Chania

Beam 17 miles and focal height 60 meters. Octagonal tower 7 meters high, in the middle of the northern side of the lighthouse keeper's residence. It is located in Souda Bay and entering on the left. It was built by the French Ottoman Lighthouse Company on behalf of the Ottoman Empire. It joined the Greek Lighthouse Network after the union of Crete with Greece (1913). In 1941 it was destroyed by the Germans and reopened in 1945.
Φωτοβολία 17 μίλια και εστιακό ύψος 60 μέτρα. Πύργος οκτάγωνος ύψους 7 μέτρων, στη μέση της βορεινής πλευράς της κατοικίας των φαροφυλάκων. Βρίσκεται στον κόλπο της Σούδας και εισπλέοντας αριστερά. Κατασκευάστηκε από τη Γαλλική Εταιρεία Οθωμανικών Φάρων για λογαριασμό της Οθωμανικής Αυτοκρατορίας. Στο Ελληνικό Φαρικό Δίκτυο εντάχθηκε μετά την ένωση της Κρήτης με την Ελλάδα (1913). Το 1941 καταστράφηκε από τους Γερμανούς και επαναλειτούργησε το 1945.
