WOMEN’S VRAKA OF THE TRADITIONAL COSTUME OF CRETE (EN)

Βαμβακερή βράκα-παντελόνα (σαλβάρι), ορθογώνιου σχήματος, σε λευκό χρώμα. Αποτελείται από δύο κυρίως τμήματα, τη βασική παντελόνα και την ενσωματωμένη σε αυτή, βράκα (το ύφασμα παραπέμπει σε κλειστή ποδιά). Οι απολήξεις των δύο μπατζακιών, καθώς και η κυκλική απόληξη του άνω τμήματος της βράκας, φέρουν, προσαρτημένα εσωτερικά, τρία λάστιχα, που επιτρέπουν τη σταθεροποίηση του ενδύματος στο σωστό ύψος, στα πόδια και στη μέση αντίστοιχα. Rectangular white cotton vraka trousers (salvari). It consists of two main sections, the base trousers and the vraka integrated into them (the fabric resembles a closed apron). Three elastic bands are attached on the inside of the ends of the two legs and of the round upper end of the vraka, allowing the garment to stay at the correct height on the legs and at the waist respectively.
