WOMEN’S BELT OF THE TRADITIONAL COSTUME OF KAVAKLI, THRACE (EN)

Μάλλινο ζωνάρι γυναικείας παραδοσιακής φορεσιάς από το Καβακλί Θράκης (περιοχή Ανατολικής Ρωμυλίας, σημερινή Βουλγαρία). Φέρει ενυφασμένο διάκοσμο με κάθετες φαρδιές και στενές ρίγες σε καφέ, μπλε, ροζ, πράσινο, πορτοκαλί, μαύρο, κόκκινο και άσπρο χρώμα. Τα ζωνάρια υφαίνονταν στον αργαλειό και δένονταν στη μέση πάνω από το φόρεμα (τσούκνα). (EL)
Woollen belt of the women’s traditional costume of Kavakli, Thrace (Eastern Rumelia region, present-day Bulgaria). It is embellished with woven vertical wide and narrow stripes in brown, blue, pink, green, orange, black, red and white colours. The belts were woven on the loom and tied around the waist over the dress (tsukna). (EN)
