Turkish officer’s sword, with scabbard and leather tuft

Ξίφος Οθωμανού Αξιωματικού, με θήκη και δερμάτινο θύσανο. Η λάμα του ξίφους είναι σιδερένια, ανεπαίσθητα κοίλη, μονόστομη, διατρέχεται σε κάθε πλευρά από κοίλη γραμμή και καταλήγει σε αιχμή. Στις δύο όψεις της φέρει ελαφρώς έκτυπη διακόσμηση με πλοχμούς, ημισέληνο με αστέρι, λάβαρα και θυρεούς. Η λαβή είναι κεράτινη σε σκούρο καφέ χρώμα με διακόσμηση σιρματερή. Ο προφυλακτήρας είναι ορειχάλκινος και φέρει και αυτός διακόσμηση με την ακτινοβολούσα ημισέληνο, τον αυτοκρατορικό θυρεό, λάβαρα και ξίφη. Στη χειρολαβή είναι προσαρτημένος δερμάτινος θύσανος με ταινία και φούντα.

Ottoman officer’s sword, with scabbard and leather tuft. The blade of the sword is iron, subtly concave, single-edged, with a concave line running on each side and ending in a point. On its two sides it has a lightly embossed decoration with spirals, a crescent with a star, banners and shields. The grip is made of dark brown horn with a lattice decoration. The guard is brass and is also decorated with a radiant crescent, the imperial coat of arms, banners and swords. Attached to the hilt is a leather tuft with ribbon and tassel.
