Οι γκέτες αποτελούνται από δύο μακριές ταινίες από βαμβακερό χακί ύφασμα, στριφωμένες με γαζί στα πλάγια και η κάθε μία στο ένα της άκρο, φέρει στενότερη ταινία (εξτρα-φορ), για να στεραιώνονται στη γάμπα. Οι γκέτες αποτελούσαν αναπόσπαστο τμήμα της στολής των βαλκανιωμάχων πεζικού. Προσδένονταν γύρω-γύρω στις γάμπες, για να τις υποβαστάζουν κατά τις πορείες και για να μην πρίζονται τα πόδια. Οι συγκεκριμένες γκέτες αποτελούσαν τμήμα της στολής του Μακεδονομάχου και Βαλκανιομάχου Μανώλη Λίτινα.

The gaiters consist of two long bands of cotton khaki material, hemmed with stitching on the sides and each at one end, has a narrower band to fasten to the calf. Gaiters were an integral part of the uniform of the Balkan infantrymen. They were tied around the calves, to support them during the marches and to prevent the legs from swelling. These particular gaiters were part of the uniform of the Macedonian Fighter and Balkan War fighter Manolis Litinas.
