Η επιτυχής έκβαση του ελληνικού εκπαιδευτικού αγώνα που ξεκίνησε στη δεκαετία του 1860 υπήρξε αποφασιστικός παράγοντας για το μέλλον της Μακεδονίας. Στα 1900 λειτουργούσαν στη Μακεδονία πάνω από 1.000 ελληνικά εκπαιδευτήρια. Η νεαρή δασκάλα κάνει μάθημα, ενώ στην κρυψάνα του σπιτιού, κάτω από το τζάκι, νοσηλεύει έναν πληγωμένο Μακεδονομάχο.

The successful outcome of the Greek educational struggle that began in the 1860s was a decisive factor for the future of Macedonia. In 1900, more than 1,000 schools operated in Macedonia. The young teacher is teaching a lesson, while in the hiding place of the house, under the fireplace, she nurses a wounded Macedonian Fighter.
