ΒΙΟΜΗΧΑΝΙΚΗ ΕΓΚΑΤΑΣΤΑΣΗ- Οι αμμουδάρες είναι περιοχές στις οποίες γινόταν η εξόρυξη της θηραϊκής γης ή «πορσελάνας», όπως ονόμαζαν οι ντόπιοι. Το υλικό αυτό ήταν συστατικό του μίγματος που χρησιμοποιούνταν για το τρίτο στάδιο του επιχρίσματος (ψιλοσοβάς) αντί για μαρμαρόσκονη που δεν υπήρχε, αλλά και ως συστατικό εμπλουτισμού του εδάφους των καλλιεργούμενων χωραφιών, κυρίως για τα αμπέλια.

INDUSTRIAL FACILITY- The sand dunes are areas where theraic earth or "porcelain", as the locals called it, was mined. This material was a component of the mixture used for the third stage of plastering (fine plaster) instead of marble dust which did not exist, but also as a component to enrich the soil of the cultivated fields, mainly for the vines.
