Η Μάλθη, το ομηρικό Δώριον, ανασκάφηκε συστηματικά από τον Valmin και το Σουηδικό Αρχαιολογικού Ινστιτούτου. Η αρχική φάση κατοίκησης τοποθείται στην Τελική Νεολιθική, ωστόσο η φάση της μεγαλύτερης ακμής της είναι η ΥΕ ΙΙ- ΥΕ ΙΙΙΒ περίοδος. Αποτελούσε μια από τις σημαντικές πόλεις του βασιλείου του Νέστορα, μάλλον το Δώριον. Η ακρόπολη τειχίστηκε με ακατέργαστους λίθους κατά τη ΜΕ ΙΙ περίοδο, όταν οι οικίες από αψιδωτές έγιναν ορθογώνιες. Από την ΥΕ περίοδο εντοπίστηκε μέγαρο με ελλειψοειδή εστία.

Malthi, the Homeric Dorion, was systematically excavated by Valmin and the Swedish Archaeological Institute. The site was first settled in the Final Neolithic period, however the peak of the sit was the LHII-LHIIIB period. It was one of the most important cities of the kingdom of Nestor, probably Dorion. The acropolis was walled with rubble masonry during the Middle Helladic period, when the houses became rectangular (instead of absidal). A megaron with an ovalhearth was also discovered.
