Επιστολή του Βέντρις προς την Κομπερ, όπου φαίνεται ότι ακόμη, το 1948, ο Βέντρις θεωρούσε ότι η Γραμμική Β' αποτελουσε γραφή κάποιας ετρουσκικής γλώσσας. Ο κοινός σύνδεσμος των δύο ήταν ο Sir John Linton Myres, ο οποίος επιδίωξε μια συνεργασία των Μπέννεττ, Κόμπερ και Βέντρις, σύντομα όμως αποδείχθηκε ότι η συνεργασία αυτή ήταν πολύ δύσκολη.

Letter from Ventris to Kober, where it is evident that in 1948 Ventris still thought that Linear B was the scriptof an Etruscan language. It was Sir John Linton Myres who had brought together Kober and Ventris, aiming at a collaboration among Bennett, Kober and Ventris, it was soon proved, however, that this collaboration was very difficult.
