Φωτογραφία από λατομείο πωρόλιθου έξω από τους Γαργαλιάνους Μεσσηνίας. Το λατομείο χρονολογείται στην ύστερη κλασική-ελληνιστική εποχή. Ο λίθος κοβόταν επί τόπου, εξ ου και η βαθμιδωτή διαμόρφωση του χώρου.

Picture from a poros stone quarry outside Gargalianoi, Messenia. The quarry dates to the late Classical-Hellenistic period. The stone was cut in situ, which explains the stepped formation of the site.
