Τριποδικό ρυτό με σφαιρικό σώμα, κάθετη λαβή και ψηλό λαιμό, ο οποίος φέρει έξεργο δακτύλιο και καταλήγει σε πεπλατυσμένο οριζόντιο χείλος. Πρόκειται για ιδιόμορφο αγγείο, θρησκευτικού χαρακτήρα, το οποίο φέρει οπές στον πυθμένα, στα τρία πόδια του καθώς επίσης και στα τρία πλαστικά ζωόμορφα διακοσμητικά στοιχεία τα οποία εκφύονται γύρω από το λαιμό του. Γραπτός διάκοσμος κοκκινωπού χρώματος κοσμεί τις ζωόμορφες κεφαλές (ελαφιών και ταύρου) στο πρόσωπο και τα κέρατα. Το σφαιρικό σώμα του ρυτού διακοσμείται από επάλληλες οριζόντιες ταινίες ζωγραφισμένες με ποικίλα μοτίβα όπως κοκκινωπές κυματιστές γραμμές, πλέγματα και ζώνες από τελείες. Η συγκεκριμένη κατηγορία αγγείου χρησιμοποιείται για σπονδές σε τελετουργίες είτε σε ιερά (όπου λατρεύονταν θεότητες) είτε σε ταφές (όπου αποδίδονταν τιμές- χοές σε αγαπημένους νεκρούς). Ο τελετουργικός χαρακτήρας του εν λόγω σκεύους αποδεικνύεται από το γεγονός ότι βρέθηκε πάνω σε σωρό άλλων μυκηναϊκών αγγείων σε θαλαμωτό τάφο στα Βολιμίδια. Με αυτό έγιναν οι τελευταίες χοές προς τιμήν των νεκρών, που ίσως ήταν δεινοί κυνηγοί, εξ ου και τα κεφάλια των ζώων στο ρυτό. Η ύπαρξη της ταυροκεφαλής ως θρησκευτικό σύμβολο παραπέμπει σε ρυτά σε σχήμα ταυροκεφαλής που απαντώνται στα Δωδεκάνησα (Κπαρπαθος & Ρόδο) και ανάγουν τις επιρροές τους στα βουκράνια της Μινωικής Κρήτης. Tripod rhyton with a spherical body, a vertical handle and a tall neck, which bears a prominent ring and ends on a flattened horizontal rim. It is a peculiar vessel of a religious character, which bears holes in the bottom, on its three legs as well as on the three animal-shaped decorative elements, which grow around its neck. Red slip decorates the animal-shaped heads (two of stags and one of bull) on the face and the horns. The decoration on the body of the rhyton consists of parallel horizontal bands painted with various patterns, such as red wavy lines, nets and dotted zones. The specific type of vessel was used for libations either in sanctuaries or in tombs. The ritual character of the vessels is proved also by the fact that it was found on top of a mound of Mycenean vessels in a chamber tomb at Volimidia. It had been used to pour the last libations on behalf of the deceased, who probably were fierce hunters, hence the animals with horns. The existence of the bull head as a religious symbol alludes to similar vessels in the form of a bull's head that are found in the Dodekanese (Karpathos and Rhodes), influenced by Minoan Art. (EN)
