Ο Velizar Krstić στα έργα του δημιουργεί έναν ιδιόμορφο κόσμο στον οποίο προσπαθεί με ιδέες και γλώσσα εικαστική να επεξηγήσει τη σύγχρονη πραγματικότητα μέσα από συμβολικές παραστάσεις και δυνατούς ρυθμούς. Η ανθρώπινη μορφή αποτελεί πρωταρχικό δεδομένο πάνω στην οποία οικοδομεί κατά κανόνα τη δομή του έργου.
Στις χαρακτικές συνθέσεις «Απόλλων» και «Διηδάμεια» εμπνέεται από τη μάχη Κενταύρων και Λαπιθών, η οποία κοσμεί το δυτικό αέτωμα του ναού του Δία στην Ολυμπία. Ο αυστηρός ρυθμός των πρώιμων κλασικών χρόνων αποτυπώνεται και στα πορτραίτα των δύο ηρώων, όπως παρουσιάζονται από τον Krstić. Το κεφάλι της Διηδάμειας τοποθετημένο στο κέντρο του επάνω μέρους της σύνθεσης πλαισιώνεται από ένα μαύρο πλαίσιο με έγχρωμες εγχαράξεις παραπέμποντας κατά μία έννοια στον ερυθρόμορφο ρυθμό της αρχαίας ελληνικής αγγειογραφίας, όπου οι μορφές εμφανίζονται με ερυθρό χρώμα επάνω στη βαμένη με "μελανό" χρώμα επιφάνεια του αγγείου. Η σύνθεση ολοκληρώνεται με λατινικούς χαρακτήρες και αριθμούς, ενώ γίνεται προσπάθεια χρονολόγησης των πρώιμων κλασικών χρόνων με λατινικούς αριθμούς.

In his artworks, Velizar Krstić creates a distinctive world in which he tries to explain contemporary reality with ideas and visual language through symbolic representations and strong rhythms. The human form is a primary element upon which he typically constructs the structure of his work.
In the engraving compositions "Apollo" and "Didameia" he was inspired by the battle of Centaurs and Lapithon, which adorns the western pediment of the temple of Zeus in Olympia. The strict rhythm of the early classical period is also reflected in the portraits of the two heroes, as presented by Krstić. The head of Didameia, placed in the centre of the upper part of the composition, is framed by a black frame with coloured engravings, referring in a sense to the red-morphic rhythm of ancient Greek vase painting, where the figures appear in red on the 'black' painted surface of the vase. The composition is completed with Latin characters and numerals, and an attempt is made to date the early classical period with Latin numerals.
