Τα έργα του Rafael Mahdavi της συλλογής του MOMus-Μουσείου Σύγχρονης Τέχνης, αποτελούν συνθέσεις που φιλοτέχνησε τη δεκαετία του 2000, όπου ανάμεσα στα άλλα έργα του πραγματοποίησε παραλλαγές και τις δικές του εκδοχές γνωστών θεμάτων και έργων της ιστορίας της τέχνης, όπως στην περίπτωση της σύνθεσης: “Variation of the Annunciation by Fra Angelico”. Οι συνθέσεις του, οι οποίες χαρακτηρίζονται από την κυριαρχία του χρώματος, το οποίο μέσω μιας έντονα χειρονομιακής και εκφραστικής γραφής δεσπόζει στους πίνακες του, εμπεριέχουν στοιχεία συμβολικού περιεχομένου που πιθανόν αντανακλούν την ψυχική κατάσταση του καλλιτέχνη, καθώς και το πολυποίκιλο και διαφορετικό βιωματικό του υπόβαθρο, όπως στην περίπτωση του έργου “Reaching out”.

Rafael Mahdavi's works in the collection of the MOMus Museum of Contemporary Art, are compositions created in the 2000s, where among his other works he created variations and his own versions of well-known themes and works of art history, as in the case of the composition "Variation of the Annunciation by Fra Angelico". His compositions, which are characterised by the dominance of colour, which through a strongly gestural and expressive writing dominates his paintings, contain elements of symbolic content that probably reflect the artist's state of mind, as well as his varied and diverse experiential background, as in the case of "Reaching out".
