Η σκηνή αποτελεί κατά κάποιον τρόπο συνέχεια της προετοιμασίας της πομπής που εικονίζεται στη δυτική πλευρά. Οι ιππείς είναι ακόμη στο έδαφος. Δεξιά ένας μικρός υπηρέτης (136) φέρει το ιμάτιο του κυρίου του ριγμένο στον ώμο και δένει τη ζώνη του ιππέα (135) που στέκεται στραμμένος προς τα αριστερά, με το αριστερό σκέλος άνετο στα πλάγια και το κεφάλι σκυμμένο, καθώς προσπαθεί να διορθώσει με τα δυο του χέρια το ένδυμά του. Δίπλα του το καμαρωτό άλογο κρύβει στο βάθος του λίθου τον ιππέα (134) και βαδίζει προς τα αριστερά. Στη συνέχεια ένας νέος (133) στέκει κατενώπιον σε ελαφρό διασκελισμό. Με το δεξί του χέρι κρατάει τα χαλινάρια του αλόγου του που αρχίζει να αναπηδά, ενώ με το αριστερό του στερεώνει την ταινία στο κεφάλι του. (EL)
In a sense the scene is a continuation of the preparation for the procession seen on the west end. The horsemen have yet to mount. To the right is a little servant-boy (136) who brings his master’s himation over his shoulder while he fastens the horseman’s (135) belt. The horseman, facing left, with his left hand at his side and head bent, tries with both hands to adjust his garment. Beside him his proud horse hides the horseman (134) in the background of the block and walks toward the left. Then comes another youth (133), shown frontally with legs slightly apart. He grasps the bridle of his horse with his right hand and with his left he adjusts the band around his head. (EN)
