The Parthenon Frieze. Block N XXVII (EN)
Ένας αποβάτης (71) εικονίζεται στο αριστερό μέρος του λίθου να πηδάει στο άρμα που τρέχει. Φοράει κράνος, θώρακα πάνω από κοντό χιτώνα που σχηματίζει χαμηλό κόλπο και κρατάει με το αριστερό χέρι ασπίδα. Σε δεύτερο επίπεδο σώζονται αποσπασματικά ο δίφρος και το σώμα του ηνιόχου (70). Στη δεξιά πλευρά του λίθου εικονίζεται ο ιπποκόμος (72) με κοντό αχειρίδωτο χιτώνα και χλαμύδα στραμμένος προς τα δεξιά. Kρατάει από το χαλινάρι ένα από τα άλογα του άρματος του διπλανού λίθου BXXVIII. (EL)
An apobates (71) is shown at the left of block XXVII leaping onto the moving chariot. He wears a helmet, cuirass over a short chiton, which forms a low overfold, and he carries his shield in his left hand. Preserved in fragments on a lower plane is the chariot-board and the body of the charioteer (70). (EN)
