Η σκηνή σ' αυτόν τον λίθο είναι εντυπωσιακή: δίπλα στον ηνίοχο (78) που είναι αποκρουσμένος, ένας αποβάτης (79) με κράνος, ασπίδα και χλαμύδα που ανεμίζει πίσω αφήνοντας το κορμί του γυμνό, γυρίζει να δει προς τα πίσω, καθώς στέκει πάνω στο έβδομο άρμα που τρέχει. Η μορφή είναι σκαλισμένη βαθύτερα στο βάθος του αναγλύφου, ενώ τα κεφάλια των τεσσάρων αλόγων με τη διαφοροποιημένη στάση τους και τις έντονα ανεμίζουσες, φλογόσχημες χαίτες δίνουν με τον παραστατικότερο τρόπο την αίσθηση της ταχύτητας. Οι χαίτες αυτές είναι πανομοιότυπες με των αλόγων των λίθων III, IV & V. (EL)
This is an impressive scene. Beside the charioteer (78), who has largely been broken off, is the apobates (79) with helmet and shield. His chlamys blows out in the wind, leaving his body exposed. He turns to look behind him while standing on the moving chariot, the seventh. The figure is more deeply cut into the background of the relief, while the heads of the four horses in their different positions and with their flame-like manes wind-blown give the feeling of speed in vivid fashion. The manes are exactly similar to those of the horses on blocks III, IV and V. (EN)
