Ένας νέος (29) που φοράει τη χλαμύδα του, σκύβει για να δέσει το σανδάλι του αριστερού ποδιού του, που είναι ανεβασμένο σε ψηλό βράχο. Σε δεύτερο επίπεδο δύο άλογα στέκουν ήρεμα το ένα πίσω από το άλλο προς τα αριστερά, ενώ ένας ιππέας (28) στο αριστερό άκρο του λίθου προσπαθεί να περάσει τα χαλινάρια στο πρώτο. Η όλη σκηνή μαρτυρεί έναν προικισμένο καλλιτέχνη που κατόρθωσε να αποδώσει με τόση απλότητα, αλλά και ζωντάνια μια καθημερινή σκηνή προετοιμασίας.

A youth (29) clad in chlamys, bends to tie the sandal on his left foot, resting it on a large stone. Behind him on a second level two horses stand quietly, one behind the other facing left. At the left end of the block a horseman is trying to pass a bridle over the first horse’s head. The entire representation bespeaks a gifted artist who has managed to portray with simplicity, yet liveliness, an everyday scene of preparation.
