The digital collection “Memory and Resistance: A Journey through the History and Culture of Nea Kokkinia” of the Municipality of Nikaia–Agios Ioannis Rentis brings together 460 photographic and textual records from the Resistance Museum and the Blockade of Kokkinia memorial site.

At the heart of the collection lies the story of the Executions of Kokkinia in 1944, which was the largest Nazi roundup and one of the largest-scale war crimes perpetrated by Nazis and local collaborators during the German occupation of Greece. Kokkinia Blockade is a symbol of Nazi violence and the resistance of local residents during the Axis Occupation. The collection helps preserve and pass on this mnemonic experience, placing it within the broader history of Nea Kokkinia.
