The National Historical Museum’s digital collection comprises an extensive material record of more than 4700 items of modern Greek history dating from the 15th to the 20th century, focusing on the Greek War of Independence and the successive phases of social, political, and cultural development of the Greek nation. 

The collection comprise a richly varied assemblage of historical artefacts, including Greek and foreign flags and war trophies, arms and personal belongings of key historical figures, figureheads and ship models, seals, coins, paintings, engravings, lithographs, maps and architectural drawings, as well as furniture, jewelry, and an exceptional array of national and regional costumes reflecting diverse aspects of everyday life and traditional culture. 

Τhe Museum’s collection supports research, education, and public engagement with the history of modern Greek identity and experience.
