Municipal Library of Amorgos Repository  

The digital collection of the Municipal Library of Amorgos constitutes a compact and historically significant dataset of 4,006 items documenting the island's cultural heritage. The dataset consists almost entirely of textual material-  book segments, school textbooks, manuscripts, and an extensive press archive featuring newspaper front pages and magazine covers. Two legacy collections—of the Amorgos Scholeion (one of the first Greek schools of the modern state) and that of the local scholar Emmanouil Ioannidis—spanning from the 16th to the early 20th century, cover the transition from the Ottoman era to modern Greece. The dataset's linguistic diversity highlights its scholarly breadth, featuring records in Greek, French, Latin, German, English, Italian, and Russian.
