This collection comprises public sculptures adorning the city, captured and digitized using 3D technologies. The monuments honor key figures of the 1821 Greek War of Independence and the wider 19th-century struggle for Greek liberation.
Through their digital display, the project seeks both to evoke, via their materiality, the heroic ideals that forged the modern Greek state's identity, and to illuminate the history of their commission, the narratives they convey, the biographies of the commemorated individuals, and their artistic craftsmanship. In this way, these public monuments serve as vital symbols and testimonies to the historical and cultural heritage of Nafplio.
