Το Κάλλιον ήταν σημαντική πόλη της δυτικής Φωκίδας, όπου κατοικούσαν Οφιονείς, φύλο αιτωλικό. Βρισκόταν σε στρατηγική θέση στην κοιλάδα του άνω Δάφνου, που συνέδεε τη Φθιώτιδα με την Αιτωλία. Συγκροτήθηκε σε πόλη τον 4ο αιώνα, αλλά το 279 π.Χ. υπέστη μεγάλες καταστροφές από τους Γαλάτες. Η Οικία Αρχείου που εικονίζεται εδώ κτίστηκε αμέσως μετά από τη γαλατική επιδρομή και καταστράφηκε περί το 168 π.Χ., όπως μαρτυρούν τα κινητά ευρήματα των ανασκαφών.

Kallion was an important city of western Phokis, inhabited by Ophioneis, an Aetolian tribe. It was situated on a strategic position at the valley of upper Daphnos river, connecting Phtiotida with Aetolia. It took the form of a city in the 4th century, however in 279 B.C. it suffered sever destruction by the Gauls. The House of the Archive which is depicted here was built right after the Gauls' invasion and was destroyed at about 168 B.C., as attested by the movable finds of the excavations.

Kallion était une ville importante de Phocide ouest, habitée par des Ophioneis, une tribu étolienne. Il était situé sur une position stratégique dans la vallée de la rivière Daphnos, reliant Pthiotida avec Étolie. Il a pris la forme d'une ville dans le 4ème siècle, cependant en 279 BC il a été détruit par les Gaulois. La Maison de l'Archive qui est représentée ici a été construite juste après l'invasion des Gaulois et elle a été détruite à environ 168 avant J.-C., comme l'attestent les trouvailles mobiles des fouilles.
