Το Σούβαρδο είναι ορεινό χωριό των Καλαβρύτων. Κατά τη Γερμανική κατοχή που η αντίσταση βαδίζει στην κορύφωσή της το χωριό προσφέρεται για καταφύγιο ανταρτών και αντιστασιακών πολιτικά οργανωμένων. Στις 9-12-1943 λίγες μέρες πριν το ολοκαύτωμα των Καλαβρύτων (13-12-1943) οι Γερμανοί έφτασαν στο χωριό και εκτέλεσαν πέντε αντιστασιακούς Καλαβρυτινούς λίγο μετά την κάτω βρύση. Την νύχτα οι Γερμανοί έκαψαν το χωριό και σώθηκε μόνο η εκκλησία και δύο σπίτια. (EL)
