Kapsali lighthouse, Kythira island
Καψάλι Κυθήρων

Beam 6 miles and focal height 25 meters. White tower, circular and conical towards the base, crowned by a cage, in which the lighting equipment is placed, 6 meters high, above the lighthouse keepers' residence. It is located on the south side of Kythera and entering right at the end of the inlet of the homonymous bay (arch. Skandia). It was built by the English during the period of the Ionian Ionian State. It joined the Greek Lighthouse Network in 1864 after the union of the Ionian Islands with Greece. In 1941 it was destroyed by the Germans and reopened in 1945.
Φωτοβολία 6 μίλια και εστιακό ύψος 25 μέτρα. Πύργος λευκός, κυκλικής και κωνικής προς τη βάση διατομής που στέφεται από κλωβό, στον οποίο είναι τοποθετημένα τα φωτιστικά μηχανήματα, ύψους 6 μέτρων, επάνω στην κατοικία των φαροφυλάκων. Βρίσκεται στη νότια πλευρά των Κυθήρων και εισπλέοντας δεξιά στην άκρη του μυχού του ομώνυμου κολπίσκου (αρχ. Σκάνδεια). Κατασκευάστηκε από τους Άγγλους στην περίοδο της Ιονίου Επτανησιακής Πολιτείας. Στο Ελληνικό Φαρικό Δίκτυο εντάχθηκε το 1864 μετά την ένωση των Επτανήσων με την Ελλάδα. Το 1941 καταστράφηκε από τους Γερμανούς και επαναλειτούργησε το 1945.
