Κρητικό μαχαίρι. Το θηκάρι είναι επενδυμένο με μπλε βελούδο. Στα δύο άκρα και το μέσο φέρει μεταλλικά ελάσματα με ανάγλυφο φυτικό διάκοσμο. Στο πάνω και το μεσαίο έλασμα έχει περαστεί μικρή αλυσίδα για ανάρτηση. Περιμετρικά έχει προσαρτηθεί μεταλλικό περίγραμμα. Η λαβή του μαχαιριού είναι μεταλλική σε μορφή κάλυκα με ανάγλυφα φυτικά μοτίβα. Τα στελέχη του προφυλακτήρα του χεριού είναι δακρυόσχημα με εγχάρακτα διακοσμητικά μοτίβα. Τα μαχαίρια αποτελούσαν αναπόσπαστο κομμάτι της ανδρικής κρητικής φορεσιάς.

Cretan knife. The scabbard is lined with blue velvet. On its two sides and in the middle, there are metal plates with raised vegetal decoration. A small suspension chain has been passed through the upper and middle plate. A metallic border has been added around the perimeter. The knife’s handle is made of metal in the shape of a calyx with raised vegetal motifs. The hand guard stems are teardrop-shaped with engraved decorative motifs. Knives were an integral part of the Cretan costume of men.
