WOMEN’S OVERCOAT (SAYIAS) OF THE TRADITIONAL COSTUME OF CAPPADOCIA

Σαγιάς- επενδύτης παραδοσιακής γυναικείας φορεσιάς από την Καππαδοκία. Αποτελείται από επτά φύλλα υφάσματος σε ανοιχτό καφέ και πράσινο χρώμα. Τα μανίκια είναι κάθετα ραμμένα. Στις ραφές των μανικιών, των μπροστινών φύλλων ψηλά και των πίσω φύλλων, φέρει χρυσό γαλόνι. Από το μπροστινό γαλόνι ξεκινά λευκό γαζί προς τα κάτω που ακολουθεί τον ποδόγυρο μέχρι το πλαϊνό σκίσιμο. Στον ποδόγυρο το γαζί δημιουργεί τεθλασμένες γραμμές και στα πλάγια γεωμετρικό μοτίβο. Στις άκρες των μανικιών έχουν ραφτεί, εσωτερικά, λευκά μανικάκια. Ο σαγιάς μπροστά στο θώρακα φέρει δεκατέσσερα ασημένια κουμπιά.

Sayias – Overcoat of the women’s traditional costume from Cappadocia. It consists of seven panels of fabric in light brown and green. The sleeves are sewn perpendicularly. The seams on the sleeves, high on the front panels and on the back panels, are embellished with gold galloon trim. White stitching starting from the front galloon trim leads down and follows the hem to the slit on the side. The stitching creates broken lines at the hem and a geometric motif on the sides. White undersleeves have been sewn on the inside of the edges of the sleeves. At the front, on the chest, the sayias has fourteen silver buttons.
