ΒΙΟΜΗΧΑΝΙΚΗ ΕΓΚΑΤΑΣΤΑΣΗ- Από τον 19ο αιώνα η εξόρυξη και εξαγωγή του γύψου συνετέλεσε στην ανάπτυξη των Αρμαθιών, από όπου 8.000 τόνοι ετησίως μετεφέροντο στην Οδησσό, την Κωνσταντινούπολη, τη Σμύρνη, την Αλεξάνδρεια και τον Πειραιά. Κατά την περίοδο της ακμής υπήρχε στο νησί μικρός οικισμός στον οποίο ζούσαν μόνιμα μέχρι και 100 κάτοικοι που καλλιεργούσαν χωράφια και εξέτρεφαν ζώα.
Σήμερα, ο οικισμός στα Αρμάθια είναι ερειπωμένος και αποτελείται κυρίως από χαλάσματα. Εξαίρεση αποτελεί το εκκλησάκι του οικισμού και το διπλανό βοηθητικό του κτίριο τα οποία φαίνεται να έχουν συντηρηθεί. Επίσης σώζονται 2-3 κατοικίες οι οποίες είναι ερειπωμένες.

INDUSTRIAL FACILITY- Since the 19th century, the mining and export of plaster contributed to the development of Armathia, from where 8,000 tons per year were transported to Odessa, Constantinople, Smyrna, Alexandria and Piraeus. During the heyday there was a small settlement on the island in which up to 100 residents lived permanently who cultivated fields and raised animals.
Today, the settlement in Armathia is ruined and consists mainly of ruins. An exception is the small church of the settlement and its adjacent auxiliary building, which seem to have been preserved. 2-3 houses are also preserved which are dilapidated.
