Φωτογραφία αρχείου από ανασκαφές της ΛΗ ΕΠΚΑ στην ιδιοκτησία Α. Δελμούζου στα Νιχώρια. Εικονίζεται ταφικός πίθος. Οι ανασκαφές στα Νιχώρια, από το τέλος της δεκαετίας του 1960 και ως τις μέρες μας, έχουν αποκαλύψει έναν εκτεταμένο οικισμό (με εξίσου εκτεταμένη νεκρόπολη) ο οποίος άκμασε ιδιαίτερα πριν και ταυτόχρονα με το ανάκτορο του Νέστορα και φαίνεται να καταστρέφεται την ίδια περίοδο με αυτό.

Archive photograph from excavations conducted by LH EPKA on the plot of A. Delmouzos at Nihoria. The photograph shows a burial pithos. The excavations at Nihoria from the end of the 1960s until almost today, have revealed an extensive settlement (with an equally extensive necropolis), which thrived before and during the prime time of the Palace of Nestor and seems to be destroyed at the same time as the Palace.
