Ο Μπλέγκεν ήταν γνωστός για την ακρίβεια και την τελειότητα στα σκάμματα των ανασκαφών του. Η φωτογραφία αυτή από τις ανασκαφές στον Εγκλιανό το αποδεικνύει, καθώς πρόκειται για εξαιρετικά επιμελημένες ορθογώνιες τομές με έναν εργάτη στην καθεμιά. Τα ευρήματα τοποθετούνται σε ψάθινα ζεμπίλια και τα ξύλινα τελάρα προφανώς χρησίμευαν για να τοποθετούνται σβώλοι χώματος που πιθανόν περιείχαν μικροσκοπικά αντικείμενα. (EL)
Blegen was renowned for the exactitude and perfection of the trenches at his excavations. This picture from the excavations at Englianos proves it as it shows rectangular, extremely well-dug trenches with a single worker in each one. The finds were placed in straw bags and the wooden boxes were appaently used to place lumps of earth which could contain tiny finds. (EN)
