On the day of the Epiphany, the Aretsian fishing boats would fill with people eager to witness the Cross Throwing Ceremony. After the event, they would take a long boat ride along the coast. Once the Cross Throwing Ceremony in Aretsou was completed, the boats would depart and head toward the airport area to observe the Cross Throwing Ceremony of Nea Rysio, performed by the villagers. This annual tradition was faithfully upheld every year.
Την ημέρα των Θεοφανίων γέμιζαν με κόσμο το Καΐκι τους για να δει ο κόσμος τη ρίψη του Σταυρού και μετά κάνανε και μια μεγάλη βόλτα. Τα Αρετσιανά καΐκια μόλις τελείωνε η Ρίψη του Σταυρού στην Αρετσού, έφευγαν και πήγαιναν στην περιοχή του αεροδρομίου και έβλεπαν τη Ρίψη του Σταυρού του Νέου Ρυσίου που έριχνε το χωριό. Αυτό γινόταν κάθε χρόνο.
