One of the nearby bathing spots of the time, simultaneously a place of historical memory, due to the disinfecting facilities. These can be seen in the background; they must have been the wooden shacks, remnants from the Allies. Refugees, who were exhausted from their travels, were placed in these to undergo disinfection to prevent the spread of diseases, such as typhus, that they might have carried. Their clothes and any belongings they had were also placed in the furnace for sterilization. In the photograph, it is noticeable that there are no beach umbrellas in the modern sense. They began to appear systematically on the beaches after the 1970s, and perhaps a little later.
Ένα από τα κοντινά μέρη για μπάνιο της εποχής, ταυτόχρονα τόπος ιστορικής μνήμης, λόγω των απολυμαντηρίων. Αυτά διακρίνονται στο βάθος, πρέπει να ήταν τα ξύλινα παραπήγματα, απομεινάρια από τους συμμάχους. Σ’ αυτά βάζανε τους ταλαιπωρημένους πρόσφυγες για απολύμανση για να μην μεταδώσουν στην πόλη κάποιες αρρώστιες που ίσως να είχαν, όπως τύφο και τα ρούχα τους και ότι αντικείμενα κουβαλούσαν στον κλίβανο. Στη φωτογραφία παρατηρείται ότι δεν υπάρχουν ομπρέλες θαλάσσης με τη σημερινή μορφή, άρχισαν να εμφανίζονται συστηματικά στις παραλίες, μετά τη δεκαετία του 1970 και ίσως λίγο αργότερα.
