"Shake" dancing gained great popularity in Thessaloniki and other regions of Greece from the mid-1960s to the early years of the 1970s. It was a dance style that incorporated the energy of rock music and characterized the youth and the free spirit of that era.
Ο χορός σέϊκ απέκτησε μεγάλη δημοτικότητα στη Θεσσαλονίκη καθώς και σε άλλες περιοχές της Ελλάδας από τα μέσα της δεκαετίας του 1960 έως τα πρώτα χρόνια της δεκαετίας του 1970. Ήταν ένα χορευτικό στυλ που ενσωμάτωνε την ενέργεια της ροκ μουσικής και χαρακτήριζε την νιότη και την ελευθέρια του πνεύματος εκείνης της εποχής.
