      "@value" : "Οι Κυδωνίες ή το Αϊβαλί είναι μια πόλη και ένας από τους ασφαλέστερους λιμένες στα δυτικά παράλια της Μικράς Ασίας, απέναντι από τη Λέσβο, στα βορειοανατολικά της Μυτιλήνης. Βρίσκεται στην επαρχία Μπαλικεσίρ και κοντά στην Πέργαμο. Το Αϊβαλί υπήρξε ένα από τα σημαντικότερα ιστορικά κέντρα του Ελληνισμού στη Μικρά Ασία, το δεύτερο μετά τη Σμύρνη. Μεγάλο εμπορικό κέντρο, λόγω του λιμένα, είχε ανθρώπινη παρουσία από το 1500 π.Χ. Η ίδρυση του σύγχρονου οικισμού τοποθετείται μεταξύ του 1570 και του 1580."
