Το έργο "Construction ΙΙ" εντάσσεται στην ενότητα έργων που δουλεύει η Άλεξ Μυλωνά στα τέλη της δεκαετίας του 1980 και περιλαμβάνει κολάζ με χρωματιστά χαρτόνια ή με χαρτόνια χρωματισμένα με γκουάς. Η συνεχής διάθεση πειραματισμού καθορίζουν τη διαδρομή της δημιουργού, μια διαδρομή την οποία χαρακτηρίζει η εσωτερική συνοχή και η δυναμική των αναζητήσεών της. Επιλέγει καθαρά, χωρίς τονικές διαβαθμίσεις, χρώματα, δημιουργεί συμμετρικές και αυστηρές συνθέσεις. Ο τρόπος με τον οποίο συναρμόζονται τα γεωμετρικά σχήματα ή προκύπτουν μέσα από τις αναδιπλώσεις των χρωματισμένων χαρτονιών επιβάλλουν την αίσθηση της κίνησης και του χώρου, εντείνουν την αρχιτεκτονική δομή και την κυρίαρχη κονστρουκτιβιστική αντίληψη. Η ενότητα των συγκεκριμένων έργων βρίσκεται πολύ κοντά στην καθαρότητα, στην απλότητα και στη γεωμετρία των γλυπτών της την ίδια περίοδο, παρότι αυτά επιβάλλονται στον χώρο με τη λευκότητα των μαρμάρινων, επίπεδων επιφανειών τους.

The work "Construction II" is part of the series of works Alex Mylona was working on in the late 1980s and includes collages with coloured cardboard or cardboard coloured with gouache. The constant willingness to experiment, determines the path of the creator; a path characterized by the internal coherence and dynamics of her searches. She chooses clearcolors without tonal gradations, while she creates symmetrical and strict compositions. The way in which the geometric shapes are combined or arise through the folds of the colored cardboards, impose the sense of movement and space and intensify the architectural structure and the dominant constructivist perception.The unity of these works is very close to the purity, simplicity and geometry of her sculptures of the same period, although they impose themselves on the space with the whiteness of their marble, flat surfaces.
