Μετά από πρόσκληση του Μακεδονικού Μουσείου Σύγχρονης Τέχνης ο Lionel Estève και ο Αλέξανδρος Τζάννης συμμετείχαν στο πρόγραμμα Inspire 2012. Το πρόγραμμα περιλάμβανε επταήμερο workshop νέων καλλιτεχνών, τις διαλέξεις των δύο κεντρικών καλλιτεχνών, την έκθεση των έργων που δημιούργησαν οι νέοι καλλιτέχνες στο χώρο του μουσείου και την ατομική έκθεση των επικεφαλής καλλιτεχνών με αναγνωρισμένα έργα τους, καθώς και με αυτά που φιλοτέχνησαν in situ.
Η εγκατάσταση “Dead Can Smile” είναι ένα από τα έργα που φιλοτέχνησε ο Lionel Estève in situ στον εκθεσιακό χώρο του Μακεδονικού Μουσείου Σύγχρονης Τέχνης, εμπνεόμενος από το περιβάλλον του. Το έργο, μια εγκατάσταση μεγάλων μεταβλητών διαστάσεων, στρέφει το βλέμμα του θεατή στο ίδιο το έργο, αλλά ταυτόχρονα μέσω της διαφάνειας του υφάσματος τον οδηγεί να παρατηρήσει τον εξωτερικό άλλα και εσωτερικό αρχιτεκτονημένο χώρο.

Following an invitation from the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, Lionel Estève and Alexandros Giannis participated in the Inspire 2012 program. The program included a seven-day workshop for young artists, lectures by the two main artists, an exhibition of the artworks created by the young artists in the museum's space and a solo exhibition of the lead artists with their recognized artworks, along with those created in situ.
The installation "Dead Can Smile" is one of the artworks that Lionel Estève created in situ in the exhibition space of the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, drawing inspiration from its environment. The artwork, a large-scale installation, directs the viewer's gaze towards the work itself, but at the same time, through the transparency of the fabric, it leads them to observe the external and internal architectural space.
