Στο πλαίσιο της συμπλήρωσης 100 χρόνων από την Οκτωβριανή Επανάσταση διοργανώθηκε αρχικά στη Θεσσαλονίκη από το Κ.Μ.Σ.Τ. και στη συνέχεια στην Αθήνα στην Α.Σ.Κ.Τ. η έκθεση «Η μνήμη της Επανάστασης. Σύγχρονοι Έλληνες Εικαστικοί 100 χρόνια μετά την Οκτωβριανή Επανάσταση», όπου Έλληνες εικαστικοί κλήθηκαν να εμπνευστούν από την επανάσταση και να δημιουργήσουν έργα τα οποία εκτέθηκαν μαζί με έργα της Συλλογής Κωστάκη. Ο Λεωνίδας Γιαννακόπουλος εμπνέεται από το σχέδιο του αρχιτέκτονα Noi Trotsky για το Κτήριο των Σοβιέτ στο Κίροφ στην Αγία Πετρούπολη και δημιουργεί το ομώνυμο έργο. Στο σχέδιο με μελάνι ο Γιαννακόπουλος με ακρίβεια και σχεδιαστική λεπτομέρεια δημιουργεί μια σύνθεση στην οποία επιχειρεί να σχολιάζει τις πολιτικές και κοινωνικές πραγματικότητες της Σοβιετικής Ένωσης.

In the context of the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution, an exhibition titled "The Memory of the Revolution: Contemporary Greek Artists 100 Years After the October Revolution" was initially organised in Thessaloniki by the Greek State Museum of Contemporary Art and later in Athens at the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA). Greek artists were invited to draw inspiration from the revolution and create artworks, which were exhibited alongside works from the Costakis Collection. Leonidas Giannakopoulos was inspired by the architectural design by Noi Trotsky for the Soviet Building in Kirov, Saint Petersburg and he created a piece with the same name. Using ink, Giannakopoulos meticulously and with great design detail crafted a composition that aimed to comment on the political and social realities of the Soviet Union.
