Η ενότητα έργων "Lepanto: η ναυμαχία της Ναυπάκτου", που αποτελείται από 38 σχέδια σινικής μελάνης σε χαρτί, είναι εμπνευσμένη από το ομώνυμο ιστορικό γεγονός που συνέβη τον Οκτώβριο του 1571 και καθόρισε τόσο τον 16ο αιώνα, αλλά και την πορεία και τα σύνορα του δυτικού και του ανατολικού κόσμου αιώνες αργότερα. Οι συνθέσεις ορίζονται από την έλλειψη του χρώματος, η οποία τονίζει το δραματικό χαρακτήρα του θέματος, επικαιροποιεί την ιστορική μνήμη και κατορθώνει να διεγείρει το συναίσθημα. Οι γρήγορες και στιβαρές πινελιές σινικής μελάνης σε χαρτί τονίζουν την απόδοση της κίνησης, τη δυναμική των σχημάτων και των γραμμών, την αντίθεση λευκού-μαύρου. Η ένταση της χειρονομίας σκιαγραφεί μέσα από τη λιτότητα του σχεδίου και το επαναλαμβανόμενο θέμα, υπαινιγμούς μάχης, όπου ξεχωρίζουν ίχνη ανθρώπινης φιγούρας, υποψίες κανονιών, τμήματα καραβιών σε αέναη μάχη. Ελλειπτικές τροχιές και δυναμικοί άξονες συγκρούονται στο κέντρο της σύνθεσης, ενώ το λευκό που περιβάλλει τη σκηνή καταλαγιάζει την ένταση και την αγωνία.

The series of works titled "Lepanto: the Battle of Nafpaktos" consists of 38 ink drawings on paper and is inspired by the historic event of the same name that occurred in October 1571. This event not only defined the 16th century but also influenced the course and boundaries of the Western and Eastern worlds centuries later. The compositions are defined by the lack of colour, which emphasises the dramatic nature of the subject, updates historical memory and manages to evoke emotion. The rapid and robust brushstrokes of ink on paper emphasize the rendering of movement, the dynamics of shapes and lines, and the contrast between black and white. The intensity of the gesture is portrayed through the simplicity of the design and the recurring theme, suggesting battle scenes where traces of human figures, cannon hints, and ship parts engage in an ongoing battle. Elliptical trajectories and dynamic axes collide in the centre of the composition, while the white surrounding the scene alleviates tension and suspense.
