Στο τρίπτυχο «Σύνθεση Ι, για τον Δημήτρη Μητρόπουλο» με αναφορά στον μεγάλο Έλληνα πιανίστα, συνθέτη, διευθυντή ορχήστρας, ο Βασίλης Καλαντζής επιχειρεί μέσα από ασπρόμαυρες μεσαίου μεγέθους σκηνοθετημένες συνθέσεις να οργανώσει μια αφήγηση, η οποία προκαλεί αντιθέσεις: από την ηρεμία της θάλασσας στη στατική στιβαρή προτομή του συνθέτη διαμέσου του πολύβουου πλήθος περιστεριών που ουρλιάζουν και ανταγωνίζονται για τροφή.

In the triptych "Composition I, for Dimitris Mitropoulos" with reference to the great Greek pianist, composer and orchestra conductor, Vassilis Kalantzis attempts through black and white medium sized staged compositions to organize a narrative, which evokes contrasts: from the calmness of the sea to the static robust bust of the composer through the bustling crowd of pigeons screaming and competing for food.
