Το έργο του Δημήτρη Φραγκάκη εστιάζει κυρίως στον άνθρωπο, επιλέγοντας θέματα που αφορούν είτε την εξύψωση είτε τη «μεταφορά» της μετάβασης από το πραγματικό στο εξωπραγματικό, από το αληθινό στο φανταστικό, από το γνωστό στο άγνωστο, όπως στην περίπτωση της σύνθεσης «Boatman», η οποία απεικονίζει τη ρεαλιστική φιγούρα ενός νεαρού άνδρα που κωπηλατεί, παραπέμπει όμως και στον γνωστό μύθο του βαρκάρη, της μεταφοράς των ψυχών στον κόσμο των νεκρών.

Dimitris Fragakis' work focuses mainly on man, choosing themes that concern either the elevation or the "metaphor" of the transition from the real to the unreal, from the real to the imaginary, from the known to the unknown, as in the case of the composition "Boatman", which depicts the realistic figure of a young man rowing, but also refers to the well-known myth of the boatman, the transport of souls to the world of the dead.
