The Parthenon Frieze. Block N XLII (EN)
Τρεις ιππείς (115-117) εικονίζονται πάνω στα άλογά τους σε έντονο καλπασμό. Του τελευταίου (117) το άλογο κυριολεκτικά πετάει, αφού δεν αγγίζει καν το έδαφος. Ο νεαρός αφέντης το αρπάζει με το δεξί του χέρι από το τσουλούφι. Ο πρώτος (115) φοράει, όπως φαίνεται, κοντό χιτώνα, ενώ οι άλλοι δύο επιπλέον χλαμύδα και σανδάλια. (EL)
Three horsemen (115-117) ride their steeds at a gallop. The last one (117) is really flying, with all four hooves off the ground. His young master grabs the crest of his mane with his right hand. The first rider (115) wears apparently a short chiton, while the other two have in addition chlamys and sandals. (EN)
