Institution : OTE Group Telecommunications Museum  

The digital collection of the OTE Group Telecommunications Museum comprises approximately 4,400 items documenting the history of telecommunications in Greece and their close connection to the country’s industrialization and modernization processes. The collection includes a wide range of objects, such as telephone devices, telegraph equipment, telegrams, telephone cards, and photographic material, illustrating the development of communication technologies from the mid-nineteenth century to the present. 

Of particular interest is the collection of telegrams, with early examples dating to 1859, which document the introduction of the electric telegraph in Greece and its diverse uses in everyday, social, and business communication. The collection of telephone cards is also noteworthy, highlighting cultural and promotional imagery, while the photographic archive sheds light on the development of telecommunications infrastructure, professional practices, and the social dimensions of the sector. 

Thematically, the collection explores the technological evolution of telecommunications, the history of labor and industry, and the transformations of Greek society, offering a valuable resource for the study of industrial heritage and communication history.
