Institution : National Bank Cultural Foundation
The Artistic Archives of the Cultural Foundation of the National Bank of Greece (MIET) is the outcome of more than half a century of continuous publishing and cultural activity. Over this period, the Foundation developed fruitful collaborations with major artists and their heirs, many of whom not only donated works but also entrusted MIET with their personal archives or granted rights for the documentation and presentation of their complete oeuvre for research purposes.
The Artistic Archives include significant collections from the archives of prominent artists such as Nelly Andrikopoulou, Demosthenes Kokkinidis, Yannis Moralis, and Nikos Nikolaou, comprehensively documenting the breadth and evolution of their work.
In terms of content, the archives are primarily composed of two-dimensional artworks, with a strong emphasis on paintings and drawings, while also including prints, publications, and mixed-media works. These are complemented by photographs, illustrations, and publication-related material, as well as a substantial body of textual documents—such as notes, diaries, and manuscripts—that shed light on the artists’ creative processes. The collection is further enriched by three-dimensional works, including ceramics and sculptures, offering a multilayered representation of modern Greek artistic production.
