The collection of the Philatelic and Postal Museum comprises over 30,000 items and constitutes an extensive and multifaceted body of material documenting the history of the unified Postal, Telegraph and Telephone Services, as well as the development of postal communication in Greece from the 19th century to the early 21st century.

The core of the collection consists of objects related to the daily operation of postal services, including mailboxes, postal bags, uniforms, envelope-cancelling machines, safes, bicycles, and motorcycles, along with specialized equipment for the handling and distribution of mail. These items reflect the technological transformations of communication networks over time.

Philatelic material holds a prominent place within the collection, with the first Greek postage stamps issued in 1861 serving as a key reference point, alongside their original metal printing plates. The collection also includes stamp essays and proofs, sheets, first day covers, and commemorative cancellations, offering a comprehensive view of the production, circulation, and visual design of postage stamps. In this context, original artworks and design models by artists who contributed to stamp design further highlight the intersection of applied art and communication.

Chronologically, the collection primarily covers the 20th century—with the majority of items dating from the periods 1900–1949 and 1950–1999—while also including early examples from the 19th century and material extending into the early decades of the 21st century.
