Digital Repository of Thessaliko Theatre from 1975 - 2023  

The Digital Archive of the Thessalian Theatre documents the activity of Greece’s first Regional Theatre, founded in 1975, bringing together a corpus of 1,032 items that reflect its artistic and institutional trajectory. 

The composition of the collection highlights the inherently multimedia nature of theatrical production. Two-dimensional graphic materials (416 items) form a significant component, including photographs as well as printed materials such as programs and posters, which capture the visual identity and communication of performances. Audiovisual material holds a central place in the archive, with 189 videos associated with 180 documented theatrical productions, offering valuable access to performance practice and the live dimension of theatre. Three-dimensional objects (176 items), primarily costumes as well as stage models and maquettes, emphasize the material aspects of theatrical creation and the importance of scenography and costume design. At the same time, textual materials (71 items), predominantly scripts and other literary works, illuminate the dramaturgical foundation of the performances. 

Overall, the digital collection constitutes a coherent body of documentation that highlights the history and contribution of the Thessalian Theatre to the development of regional theatrical production in Greece.
